About SAMARTH:

  • It is skill development scheme of Union Ministry of Textiles, covering the entire value chain of the textile sector excluding Spinning & Weaving in organized sector.
  • OBJECTIVE: Provide demand driven, placement oriented NSQF (National Skills Qualification Framework) Compliant skilling programme to incentivize organized textiles and related sectors excluding Spinning and Weaving.
  • Promote skilling and skill up-gradation in the traditional sectors of handlooms, handicrafts, sericulture and jute.
  • Implementation Target:10 lakh persons (9 lakh in organised and 1 lakh in traditional sector) over period of 3 years (2017-20) with budgetary outlay of Rs. 1300 crore.
