AAROGYA SETU APP

IN NEWS:

• The Government of India launched the Aarogya Setu mobile app to bring the people of India together in a resolute fight against COVID-19.

AAROGYA SETU APP:

• The app has been developed in public-private partnership by the National Informatics Centre under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology.
• It will enable people to assess themselves the risk for their catching the Corona Virus infection. It will calculate this based on their interaction with others, using Bluetooth technology, GPS, algorithms and artificial intelligence.
• Once installed in a smart phone, the app detects other devices with Aarogya Setu installed that come in the proximity of that phone. The app can then calculate the risk of infection based on sophisticated parameters if any of these contacts is tested positive.
• The app also has a dedicated chatbot that asks you a series of questions to determine if you have any symptoms of Covid-19 as well as inform you about the various facilities and updates from the health ministry.
• The App will also help the Government take necessary timely steps for assessing risk of spread of COVID-19 infection, and ensuring isolation where required.
• It is available in 11 languages
