About INS Mormugao:

• INS Mormugao is the second ship of the Visakhapatnam-class destroyers (also classed as Project -15B stealth, guided-missile destroyers).
• Built by Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDSL).
• It is named after Mormugao, the historic port city of Goa.
• The ship is propelled by four powerful gas turbines and is capable of achieving speeds of over 30 knots.
• It is equipped with surface-to-surface and surface-to-air missiles.
• It is also fitted with modern surveillance radar that provides target data to the gunnery weapon systems.
• The ship is able to fight under nuclear, biological, and chemical (NBC) warfare conditions.
