Why in news?

  • Keeping in view the availability of digital infrastructure PRAGYATA Guidelines on Digital Education had been issued to all State governments as well as Schools directly under Central Government as advice.

Pragyata guidelines:

  • The Ministry of Human Resource Development released the PRAGYATA guidelines on Digital Education, with an aim to improve online education and ensure the safety and academic welfare of the students.
  • The guidelines have been prepared by the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT).
  • These are only advisory in nature and state governments can formulate their own rules, based on local needs.
  • The guidelines include eight steps of online/digital learning i.e. Plan- Review- Arrange- Guide- Yak (talk)- Assign- Track- Appreciate.
