Gramodyog Vikas Yojana

IN NEWS:

• The government has approved a programme for the benefit of artisans involved in manufacturing of agarbatti and to develop village industry under the ‘Gramodyog Vikas Yojana’.
• It will create four clusters of artisans each of whom will be supported with about 50 automatic agarbatti making machines and 10 mixing machines.

About the program:

• Gramodyog Vikas Yojana (GVY) aims at Promotion and development of the village industries through common facilities, Technological modernization, training etc
• GVY would have components to aid the following :-
  • Promoting new village industries
  • Research & Development and Product Innovation
  • Capacity Building
  • Marketing & Publicity

• The program is executed through The Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC), a statutory organisation under the Ministry of Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME).
