IN NEWS:
- The government has approved a programme for the benefit of artisans involved in manufacturing of agarbatti and to develop village industry under the ‘Gramodyog Vikas Yojana’.
- It will create four clusters of artisans each of whom will be supported with about 50 automatic agarbatti making machines and 10 mixing machines.
About the program:
- Gramodyog Vikas Yojana (GVY) aims at Promotion and development of the village industries through common facilities, Technological modernization, training etc
- GVY would have components to aid the following :-
- Promoting new village industries
- Research & Development and Product Innovation
- Capacity Building
- Marketing & Publicity
- The program is executed through The Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC), a statutory organisation under the Ministry of Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME).
