• O-SMART is short for The Ocean Services, Modelling, Applications, Resources and Technology (O-SMART) Scheme.
• The scheme encompasses a total of 16 sub-projects addressing ocean development activities.

• Strengthening ocean observations
• Ocean services for fishermen
• Marine coastal observatories for tracking marine pollution
• Setting up Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion Plant in Kavaratti in Lakshadweep.
• Continuation of ocean survey and exploration of minerals and living resources etc.
