- The results of Swachh Survekshan 2020 has been announced.
About Swachh Survekshan:
- Swachh Survekshan is a ranking exercise taken up by the Government of India to assess urban areas for their levels of cleanliness and active implementation of Swachhata mission initiatives in a timely and innovative manner.
- The Ministry of Urban Development, Government of India takes up the Swachh Survekshan.
- Swacch Survekshan 2020 was the fifth edition of the annual cleanliness survey.
- Indore in Madhya Pradesh retained its position as the cleanest city in India for the fourth consecutive year.
- Jharkhand ranked on top in the list of best performing states, with less than 100 ULBs, in terms of overall performance.
- Chhattisgarh bagged the award for the best-performing state with over 100 ULBs.
- It is the World's largest cleanliness survey which covered 4242 Cities and collected 1.9 Crores Citizen Feedback.
- It was a Completely digitized and paperless survey.
- Cities were categorized based on their population and there was a special category for Ganga Towns in the survey.
