• Cereal Experts from India, Australia, and Canada have proposed the establishment of the Wheat Board of India.
• The experts were attending two-day international milling and baking technical conference that concluded in Guwahati.
• The event was organised by the Wheat Products Promotion Society (WPPS), a 33-year-old non-profit organisation.

What is the status of India’s wheat exports?

• Wheat is the second-most-produced cereal grain behind maize and India is the second largest producer next to China.
• Russia is the market leader for wheat exports (almost 15% share) and Ukraine is also a major producer.
• With surplus wheat production in India, we have immense opportunities to be world leader in wheat exporter.
